Share Certificate

I have not received my share certificate for stocks purchased during the 2007 Access Bank Public Offer. How do I get my share certificate?

You can do either of the following

  • Download USL form 005. Complete the form and submit at our offices. The share certificate will be re-issued and can be collected directly from us or mailed to you if you so desire. Form could also be collected at our offices.

  • In the alternative, you may go to any Access Bank branch nearest to you to complete the form. The share certificate will be reissued and delivered to the branch of Access Bank for your collection

  • Complete our e- share certificate replacement form (USL form 009)and submit completed form at our offices for processing and direct crediting of the units of shares into your CSCS account as specified on the form.

I had some shares in Access Bank Plc before the Share Reconstruction exercise. How many units of shares will I have post-reconstruction?

The Bank undertook a Share capital reconstruction exercise in 2006. As a result of this your share holding post reconstruction will be 50% of what it was prior to the reconstruction exercise.

I misplaced/lost my share certificate, how do I get it replaced?

  • Complete our e- share certificate replacement form (USL form 009) and submit completed form at our offices for processing and direct crediting of the units of shares into your CSCS account as specified on the form

My share certificate was stolen, how do I get it replaced?

Loss of Share certificate must be brought to the attention of the Registrars immediately. It’s important that you provide a police report on the theft. Either of the following can be done

  • Download USL form 006.Complete the form and submit at our offices. The share certificate will be re-issued and can be collected directly from us or mailed to you if you so desire. Form could also be collected at our offices.
     
  • Complete our e- share certificate replacement form (USL form 009)and submit completed form at our offices for processing and direct crediting of the units of shares into your CSCS account as specified on the form

I have several Registrar accounts for my shareholding the same company? How do I consolidate these accounts into one?

Download our Accounts Management form (USL form 010). Fill in the various account numbers and submit at our offices. Form could also be collected at our offices

I want to place a caution on my account. How do I get this done?

We require a written instruction from the signatory to the stock account in order to place a caution. A letter duly signed by the authorised signatory requesting for the caution will be adequate.

Dividend Warrants/Return Monies

How do I re-validate my stale warrant?

A stale warrant can only be re-validated by the Registrars. A stale warrant can be revalidated immediately upon receipt by the registrar. The stale warrant can be sent to us for revalidation via the post, brought into our offices personally or routed through a stockbroker with appropriate authorisation from the shareholder.

I have not received my dividend warrant for a particular dividend payment. What’s the process for a re-issue?

Download and complete our USL form-011 for non receipt of dividend warrant. Completed form will be processed and replacement warrants issued for outstanding payments. Replacement warrant can be mailed to the shareholder or hand collected at our offices.

How can I have my dividend credited directly to my account rather than physical warrants mailed to me?

Download our e-mandate form (USL form-002) and complete same for direct credit of your dividend to your Bank account. Form could also be collected at our offices

I bought some shares during the Access Bank Plc’s 2007 Public Offer but I’m yet to receive a cheque for the un-allotted part of my application

Kindly visit any branch of Access Bank Plc nationwide with a proof of ownership or purchase of the public offer shares and a replacement draft for your return money will be issued to you.

I received a return money cheque for the un-allotted part of my application in the last public offer but the cheque is stale. How do I get it revalidated?

Amendments to Customer Records

There is a spelling error on my name, how can a correction be effected?

Download our Customer Records Error Form (USL form 012).

  • You will be required to send your share certificate(s) in the wrongly spelt names to the Registrars. The error will be corrected and new share certificate(s) issued in the correct name. Form could also be collected at our offices. A letter from the shareholder would also suffice for this purpose.
     
  • Otherwise you could complete our e-share certificate form (USL form 009) for direct credit of the units of shares on the certificates into your account at the CSCS.

How can I correct an error in my address?

Download our Customer Records Error Form (USL form 012). State the nature of error and the correct address. The address will be corrected on the Register immediately. Form could also be collected at our offices. A letter from the shareholder would also suffice for this purpose.

How can I effect a change in my signature mandate?

You will be required to submit your current specimen signature confirmed by a Bank with a formal letter from the shareholder addressed to the registrar, United Securities Limited showing both old and current signatures.

How do we transmit a deceased person’s shares to his/her Administrators?

Download our Transmission documents check list (USL form 013). The shares of the deceased person will be transferred to his Estate as soon as all necessary documents are received and verified.

Verification of Share Certificates

I would like to trade on my shares at the Stock Exchange but I still have my share certificate. How can this be done?

You will have to engage the services of your stockbrokers. We suggest you inquire from the stock exchange on the list of approved Stockbrokers. The stockbrokers will present your share certificate to the Registrars for verification and dematerialization.

The units of shares will then be credited into your CSCS account.

How long will it take for my share certificate to be dematerialized and lodge into my account at the CSCS once it is presented to you for verification

48 hours in absence of any irregularities in shareholder’s signature mandate.

How can I know the status of the verification of my share certificate?

How can I prevent trading on my stocks by my stockbrokers without my authorisation?

You could instruct the Registrars to place a caution on your account or flag your account ‘No Trades’. A written instruction from the shareholder to this effect will be adequate.

  • Download our e-mandate form (USL form-002) and complete same for direct credit of outstanding dividend to your Bank account. Form could also be collected at our offices.
     
  • A letter of request from the bona fide shareholder will be adequate. Request can be sent via the post or e-mail. An electronic copy of the statement could be made available via e-mail or a physical copy mailed to you or collected directly at our offices.
